DRUMMER JEFF
A short film about love and work
In 2025 I got chatting to Jeff - you may have seen him busking outside London Bridge / Kings Cross, as he has done relentlessly for the past five years. I love seeing him out playing and the spirit of his music in the community.
I was intrigued by his playing style - and his equipment! Tin cans tied with string, a plastic bottle for a drum stick...but as a drummer myself i could tell it was all purposeful. As I became mates with Jeff we agreed to film his playing and - over time - his story.

On a gigging tour of India in 2019 I met Fr. Myron of the Pilar Music Academy, Goa.
He later (post-covid!) invited me to run workshops across the Fr. Agnel Ashram, which i was delighted to undertake in 2023.
I love many things of India, and have visited three times now. During this visit I also travelled to Goa to give lessons, and to Vijaybhoomi University where I delivered a masterclass on behalf of the True School of Music, India.

Drum kit - Percussion - Vibraphone tuition
I love to teach because I love to listen. Everyone has a different way of learning and expressing and I enjoy guiding students on their journey of self-discovery.
In this video I offer three great exercises that demonstrate key aspects of what it takes to be a drummer!

Drumming, rhythm and sound workshops
I believe that enabling youth and community voice and freedom of expression is vital. I explore this through the power of music by facilitating workshops with various groups. I run workshops for Drumworks, Totally Flawed, Croydon Music and Arts and Life With Art.
WADUP Collaboration
I have particular experience working with the refugee community here in London. I regularly work with The British Red Cross, The Refugee Council, Young Roots and Soundmix.
Band and Choir Sessions
I run sessions for groups of instrumentalists wanting to gain more experience of band-musicianship. Great for those who want pointers on how to play with others - ideal for those who began learning a new instrument during lockdown!
I also enjoy running sessions for choir groups - to work on rhythm and timing and add a dimension of percussion!
Clients have included Bank of England, Music in Offices, Globe Theatre and Palace Acapella.
